Top court to rule on use of police sniffer dogs
This case was our Canadian Moot Problem last year (2007). There will be a decision today on the case by the SCC.
For those who don't know the ins and outs of the JD/LLB program we "Moot" twice in our first year legal writing and analysis class, called "Applied Lgeal Theory and Analysis" or ALTA for short.
As with nearly all North American law schools each first year JD/LLB writes arguments for and delivers oral arguments before a moot court regarding a current problem of law. The twist with the JD/LLB program is that we get to do it twice. Once in the U.S. and once in Canada.
Interestingly, the case linked above is the case we argued for our Canadian problem. A decision is expected today.
